Guides and Handouts for UTSPH Library Resources: General Library Handouts

UTHealth School of Public Health Learning Commons

The SPH Library & Graduate Communication Center is now open!

On Monday, March 5, 2018, faculty, staff, and students in Houston gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new SPH Library & Graduate Communication Center. By adopting a learning commons model, UTHealth School of Public Health is adapting to the ever-changing field of higher education and addressing the skills gap in the field of public health by producing a trained workforce. The SPH Library & Graduate Communication Center provides a full-service learning, research, and project space by combining the functions of a library, a writing center, and a student lounge in a single community space.  This multifaceted, flexible space strives to empower students to direct their own learning by offering them a place where they can meet, talk, study, and use shared equipment and resources.

The SPH Library & Graduate Communication Center is located on the first floor of the RAS Building.  The Study Space (E109) and Student Lounge (E139) are open Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 7:00pm; Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 5p.m.  The Learning Resource Center (E137) is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:00pm; Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Library and Writing Support Staff can be reached via phone at 713-500-9121, text at 713-965-6968, or online at Ask a Librarian or Writing Consultant.
