RefWorks is a web-based tool that helps you manage your references.

RefWorks and Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word has a plugin or Add-on for linking a user's RefWorks account to the Word program. To add the plugin:

  1. Open a Word Document and select Insert. 
  2. Select Get Add-ins 
  3. A pop-up window for Office Add-ins will appear. Type RefWorks in the pop-up window search bar
  4. Select RefWorks Citation Manager and select Add

If you are unable to access the Microsoft Office store to get the RefWorks Add-In, please contact UTHealth SPH IT services and work with them on getting the tool. You will need the instructions here when you work with your IT department.
